Seven bodies dumped next to N12 highway

The bodies of seven people have been found along the N12 highway at the Puttfontein offramp in Daveyton.
The bodies were discovered on Thursday night after police received a call from a passer-by.
Police spokesperson, Noxolo Kweza says all seven victims are male.
"Police are still in the process of identifying the bodies," says Kweza.
The bodies had bullet wounds and one body was burnt beyond recognition.

"While the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are unknown, it is believed the victims were part of illegal mining activities in the area," said Kweza.
It is suspected that the men might have been killed underground.
Police are appealing to communities to assist identify the bodies of the men, estimated to be aged between 30 and 40 years old.
