Shock as three NMU students die over the weekend

The Nelson Mandela University (NMU) has sent out condolences to the families and friends of three students who passed on over the weekend.
One of the students was stabbed to death while another one drowned.
Police spokesperson Johan Rheeder says a 19-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the stabbing incident.
“Two students were involved in an argument where they both stabbed each other. However, one succumbed to his injuries.
On the second incident he added: “A 26-year-old student drowned in a swimming pool after a party at the res, the students decided to swim after security had left at midnight.”
The cause of death of the third student, who is said to have collapsed and died at a popular student accommodation, is yet to be disclosed.
“NMU is deeply saddened at the news of the passing of three students. The university extends its deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of those who have lost their lives,” said university spokesperson Zandile Mbabela.
