Slight breather predicted for motorists in August
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Fuel prices in August will virtually remain unchanged, according to the Automobile Association (AA).
The AA says this is due to a stronger rand against the US dollar and a slightly lower international oil price.
"During July the recent weakening trend of the rand against the dollar slowed and over the same period international oil prices showed a slight average decrease which almost cancelled all the rands loses," says the AA's Layton Beard.
He says while an increase is expected, the AA believes it will be less than 4c.
"While this is an increase it is not a significant increase, not as big as the previous months have been."
