Is SnapChat's new feature a danger?
Updated | By Laila Majiet
If your child has SnapChat you may want to be checking their settings and your own!
SnapChat has come under harsh criticism for its new feature which allows people to track your location in real-time.
The new feature is called Snap Map.
It can be turned off onto Ghost Mode to prevent one's followers from tracking your location.
In a statement on its website, SnapChat says: "We've built a whole new way to explore the world! See what's happening, find your friends, and get inspired to go on an adventure!"
But we're not so sure.
It allows people to see exactly where you are on an interactive map which shows not only the street you're on, but where on the street you are.
My sisters, who are parents, are freaked out. And they're not alone.
English actress Nadia Sawalha exclaims she is "completely horrified".
In a video, posted on Facebook, her 14-year-old daughter Maddie tries to show her how it works.
You launch the feature by pinching the Snapchat camera home screen, and choose to share your location with all of your friends, a selection of them, or none of them with Ghost Mode.
With predators lurking, is this what we really need?
