Snoopy gets a star on Walk of Fame in Hollywood
Updated | By AFP
Snoopy now has his own star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, just in time for the release of "The Peanuts Movie" -- starring him.
The world's best known beagle, known for lines such as "I'm allergic to mornings," boasts star number 2,563 on Hollywood Boulevard, right next to that of his creator, Charles Schulz.
On Monday, a person dressed up as Snoopy was brought in to accept the honor and pose with fans who turned out to cheer the dog.
The beloved black and white pooch that first came to life 65 years ago was already a star this weekend with the release of "The Peanuts Movie". It opens Friday in the United States and will be released in other countries on December 23.
On the Walk of Fame, Snoopy joins other comic book or animated movie characters such as Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Snow White and the ogre Shrek.
