Snuki Zikalala confident of ANC victory in Gauteng

ANC Veterans’ League president Snuki Zikalala is confident the governing party will emerge victorious in Gauteng.
Zikalala cast his special vote at the Buccleuch primary school, north of Johannesburg on Monday.
Some 700 000 South Africans have been granted special votes on Monday and Tuesday for various reasons, including work commitments and travel.
Speaking to Jacaranda FM News, Zikalala said despite suggestions that the ANC could lose its majority in Gauteng, he remains confident that it would retain control of the country’s economic hub.
"There were those fears, but now we are a little bit comfortable that we will definitely get a majority in Gauteng. But we don't have to rest now until the elections are over.
"I sit in the provincial elections task team to make sure that we have our hands on deck to make sure that we encourage all South Africans in Gauteng to vote for the ANC and ensure that we get the majority.
"We will not be comfortable until we cross the finish line,” Zikalala said.
The ANC Veterans’ League head also believes the party will receive 62% to 63% of the national vote.
"It will be a bonus if we get 65%. But we are striving to make sure at least 62% or 63% - that's what we want the ANC to get. We still have two more days to campaign, two more days to persuade society and to make sure that society gives us another chance.
"That's why we humbly request that they should allow us and give us another opportunity to govern on their behalf."
