Solidarity gives Molefe 24-hours to pay back the money
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Trade union Solidarity has set a deadline for former Eskom CEO, Brian Molefe, to return money paid out to him following his departure from the power utility.
The North Gauteng High Court dismissed Molefe's application for leave to appeal a ruling that his pension payout was unlawful.
Molefe also sought to be reinstated at the helm of Eskom.

The court dismissed the application with costs.
"It is very unfortunate that he tried to appeal the matter. We are of the view and the court confirmed that there is no merit in the appeal," says Solidarity's Anton van der Bijl.
The court ordered Molefe to pay back R11 million already paid out to him.

The dismissal of his application renders the previous judgement effective.
Solidarity has requested that the money be paid back within the next 24 hours.
Van der Bijl says if Molefe argues that he doesn't have the money, they will approach the court for a warrant to attach and sell his properties to cover the legal costs.
