Soweto commuters cautioned amid protest action
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Commuters in Protea Glen, Soweto, have been cautioned about protest action that is affecting road users.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD)'s Wayne Minnaar says the cause of the protest action is not yet known.
"There are protest at Wild Chestnut and Impala roads in Soweto and there are tyres burning. It's not safe for motorists to drive through that intersection at the moment," says Minnaar.
He says commuters can use Protea Boulevard and Sagewood rods as alternatives and that more officers were being sent to the area to monitor the situation.
