Soweto must be the home of EFF: Malema
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has called on members to make Soweto the home of the EFF.
The party launched its one million membership campaign at the Hector Pieterson Museum in Orlando, Soweto on Friday.
Malema believes Soweto has been neglected by the government.
“Today Soweto is neglected and ignored, we want to revive the whole of Johannesburg and give it service delivery as an honour and appreciation for its contribution in the struggle for the liberation of South Africa. Only you can make Johannesburg be what it is.”
He says the target of one million members is a minimum, but the goal is to get all 54 million South Africans to believe in the EFF.
Malema has also slammed the Dudula operation movement which has been targeting businesses owned by foreign nationals in Soweto and Alexandra.
“Operation Dudula is nothing but an act of criminality that seeks to perpetuate the divisions of African people, they never go for illegal whites, Chinese and Indian. They go for so-called illegal Africans in Africa, we must never allow that. We are the doctors of the society.”
