Stage 3 load-shedding to continue on Wednesday
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Stage 3 load-shedding returned on Wednesday morning.
According to Eskom, the rotational power cuts are expected to continue for 15 hours again until 11pm.
In an early morning statement, Eskom's explained the need for the controlled blackouts saying there's currently a shortage of capacity. It says a number of its generating units are out of service - due to breakdowns.
Despite the replenishment of diesel supplies, the power giant says its water and emergency diesel reserves remain low.
It's added it's worried about the possible risk to operations today, when the national Cosatu strike gets underway but says contingency plans are in place should any problems arise.
