Stage 4 power cuts for the weekend announced overnight
The plan was for stage 3 load shedding to be implemented with stage 4 only implemented at night. However, this changed as of 5 am on Saturday.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Eskom ännounced that stage 4 power cuts would remain in place over the weekend.
Menzi Mngomezulu, crisis communication Manager for Eskom said: this was due to the further breakdown of generating units in the early hours of the morning.
The plan was for stage 3 load shedding to be implemented with stage 4 only implemented at night.
However, this changed as of 5 am on Saturday.

"Eskom will publish a further update as soon as there are any significant changes," said Mngomezulu.
