Advocate Zandile Mshololo made the claim in the High Court in Pretoria on Thursday after forensic expert, Sergeant Thabo Mosia, could not prove that the pictures contained in exhibit A were the originals.

“Where is the certification to say that a document or exhibit in front of the court has been certified?" she asked.

"It contains the correct and original pictures that were taken by you and to say there was no interference or tampering with those exhibits so that this court will be able to accept this document.

“You know what is the reason that you are failing to confirm before this court that there are original pictures because there has been tampering of the evidence and the photos of the crime scene that is not depicted here?”

Mosia admitted that when he got on to the crime scene he took a total of eight pictures under exhibit A.

But he denied that the photos were tampered with.

On Thursday, the court also heard how Mosia was instructed by the late Brigadier Philani Ndlovu, on which spots he needed to focus.

This is despite Mosia having more experience and skill than Ndlovu.

Cross examination will continue on Friday.
