The bail application of a man accused of shooting dead a German tourist in Mpumalanga has been postponed until next month.
Napoleon Joseph Nyalungu (35) appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate's Court in Mpumalanga on Friday for a bail application.
Nyalungu was arrested a few days after German tourist Jörg Schnarr was shot and killed during a botched hijacking along the R538 Numbi Road to the Kruger National Park.
The 67-year-old man, his wife and two friends were attacked on the Numbi road during a tourist visit to South Africa.
The tourist died when the suspects fired several shots through the window of their car.
The police had initially arrested three people of interest who were later released.
Nyalungu is facing charges of murder, attempted murder and attempted hijacking.
The NPA’s Monica Nyuswa says the state opposed his release on bail.
The matter has been postponed to 7 November for the continuation of the bail hearing.
