State Security minister denies knowledge of report that led to Gordhan's axing

State Security Minister David Mahlobo admitted that he has not seen the so-called intelligence report cited for being the reason behind the axing of former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Mahlobo addressed the media in Pretoria, following widespread anti-Zuma marches across the country on Friday.
He started off by defending last week's Cabinet reshuffle, saying it was President Jacob Zuma's prerogative as per the constitution, to make changes to his Cabinet.
Mabhlobo then added he's never seen the controvertial intellingence report.
"When there was a meeting, like it has been reported, the ANC has done press briefings ... well I don't sit in those meetings and I've not seen the document you are referring to," said Mahlobo, in reaction to a media question.
Mahlobo said he has his own reservations - including why those in possession of the report, do not name the author.
"Why don't they formally present the report to the Minister of State Security or the Inspector General for Intelligence, but because it is a matter of national interest, we will look at the so-called intelligence report," said Mahlobo.
