Stay at home for next 21 days, urges Makhura

Gauteng Premier David Makhura has urged the province’s residents to heed government’s call and stay at home over the next 21 days when the country is in lockdown.
Makhura, together with members of his executive, briefed media on the province’s state of preparedness ahead of the lockdown.
“We urging Gauteng residents in the next 21 days to remain at home in the province. One of the reasons is that we don’t know what the full implications are, so we are waiting on the national security cluster. Those who decide they want to go, it may be difficult to come back, it may be difficult,” said Makhura.
Gauteng has a total of 366 coronavirus cases.
The province, which has been dubbed as the coronavirus epicentre, accounts for more than 50% of the total cases.
The nationwide total stood on 709 on Wednesday afternoon.
