Streets into Mamelodi closed

Police say the situation in Mamelodi East, east of Pretoria, is still tense after community members took to the streets early Friday morning.
According to police spokesperson, Constabble Connie Moganedi, residents have blocked off roads leading into and out of the area.
"Residents are angry but we're not sure why," she told Jacaranda FM News
She adds that Public Order Police have been deployed to try and resolve the matter, with the SAPS also on the scene.
"Angry protesters have blocked the roads and students as well as workers are not able to get out of Mamelodi," she says.
Moganedi says traffic has been severely affected on Solomon Mahlangu Drive and motorists are urged to avoid the area or make use of alternative roads.
Police are investigating the cause of the protest.
"There has been no act of violence. No injuries and no one has been arrested," she says.
