Police in the Eastern Cape have confirmed that a suicide note was found next to the body of former policeman Mark Minnie.
Minnie, co-author of the explosive book 'The Lost Boys of Bird Island', was found dead at his friend's farmhouse on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth.

"We are still investigating an inquest case, he was found with a gunshot wound to his head and a firearm was found next to his body," says police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu.
Minnie co-authored the book with investigative journalist, Chris Steyn, that claims to expose a pedophilia ring involving three former National Party Ministers, including the late former Defence Minister Magnus Malan, former Environmental Affairs Minister John Wiley and a third minister who is still alive.
Police earlier said no foul play is suspected in the death of Minnie, who was found shot to death on the farm on Monday.
