Suspect in court for Thandeka Mdeliswa murder
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Mpumalanga says only one suspect has appeared in court in connection with the murder of Ikani actress Thandeka Mdeliswa.
Siyabonga Mbatha appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the murder.
Initially, three suspects were arrested for the actress' murder.

But the NPA’s Moncia Nyuswa says two of the suspects were released due to insufficient evidence.
“A 25-year-old man Siyabong Mbatha appeared at the Evander Magistrates Court on Monday in connection with the murder of Ikani actress Thandeka Mdeliswa.
“The matter was postponed to 21 September for a formal bail application.”
Mdeliswa was shot and killed at the beginning of September, after she allegedly tried to stop a fight between her brother and two people.
