This after the utility on Tuesday had announced stage 2 rolling blackout to be implemented at night.

Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says the continuous suspension of daytime load shedding is due to the unplanned outages that are currently at 13,375MW and planned maintenance at 7,820MW of generation capacity.

"Stage 2 load shedding will resume at 4 pm today (Wednesday)  until 5 am on Thursday. Thereafter, load shedding will be suspended from 5 am until 4 pm on Thursday.

"The pattern of suspending load shedding from 5 am until 4 pm and implementing stage 2 load shedding from 4 pm until 5 am will be implemented daily until Sunday afternoon."

The utility said a total of 2,000MW will be returned to the power grid by Friday.
