Thabo Bester saga: Ninth suspect set to appear in court
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
A 31-year-old Zimbabwean man is expected to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in connection with the Thabo Bester case.

The man was arrested in Johannesburg on Sunday.
Convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester escaped from the maximum-security prison in May last year by faking his own death.
He was re-arrested in Tanzania in April alongside his alleged accomplice Dr Nandipha Magudumana.
The 31-year-old is the ninth person to be arrested in this case.
Before Sunday, eight suspects had been arrested in relation to the escape. Six of the suspects are current and former G4S employees.
The man faces a charge of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody.
“The suspect is likely to face more charges," said national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
“The possibility of police affecting more arrests cannot be ruled out.”
