Thabo Mbeki: Ordinary South Africans are not being heard

Former President Thabo Mbeki says millions of South Africans have not had the opportunity to express their concerns over the direction in which South Africa is headed.
"In large measure the independent voices of millions of South Africans is excluded. I am here to support the demand to let the people speak," said Mbeki.

Mbeki is one of 3 former presidents speaking at the National Foundation Dialogue Initiative (NFDI) in Parktown.
"The country finds itself in a crisis and we support the call to let the people speak.
"There is a national sickness in our politics, economy and social cohesion."
Mbeki says the dialogue must lead to the publication of a document, which should reflect a national consensus in the spirit of the Constitution.
