Third judge to hear Zandile Mafe bail bid
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The High Court in the Western Cape will hear yet another bail application for suspected Parliament arsonist Zandile Mafe.

Mafe filed an appeal against the dismissal of his initial bail application in April.
Mafe is facing charges of arson, theft, and terrorism following the devastating blaze that gutted the National Assembly building in January.
Western Cape NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila says a third judge has been appointed to hear the matter.
"On 25 April 2022, Judge James Lekhuleni and Judge Daniel Thulare heard marathon arguments in the bail application appeal and reserved judgment. Meanwhile, the case against the terrorism accused and alleged arsonist has been postponed to 9 June 2022 after Advocate Menigo told the that a final damage report to parliament will be ready on 20 May 2022."
The matter will be heard on 30 May.
