The Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court has granted bail to a Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) employee linked to the Digital Vibes scandal.
Lizeka Tonjeni, who appeared in court shortly after her arrest on Tuesday morning, was granted bail of R5 000.
MISA is a national government component accountable to the Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, who was Zweli Mkize at the time.
Mkhize has also been implicated in the Digital Vibes scandal.
The NPA claims Tonjeni was a project manager at MISA when it awarded a tender of almost R4 million to Digital Vibes to provide communication services.
She allegedly received a bribe of R160 000 from the company.
NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says the state did not oppose bail.
"But we asked the court to impose conditions that she should hand in her passport with the clerk of the court and that she should not travel outside the Gauteng province unless she applies with the investigating officer amongst others.”
Tonjeni will be back in court on 15 June.
