Third suspect arrested for truck attacks
Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the spate of arson attacks on trucks.
The latest suspect was arrested in Emalahleni on Thursday night.
Two truck drivers were arrested in Piet Retief and Ermelo in the morning.
More than 20 trucks have been burnt in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga over the past week.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said all the suspects will appear in court on Monday.
"The suspects are facing a charge of malicious damage to property, police are hot on the heels of more suspects, which involves ringleaders of these sporadic incidents of criminality, and we are continuing with our heightened security operations."
Mathe said more arrests are expected as investigations continue.
