Their case was postponed to October 20, said NPA Gauteng spokeswoman Phindi Louw.
"The matter is remanded... for possible bail application and further investigation," she said.
Two women were caught in the crossfire which allegedly involved taxi bosses on Thursday.
Their car passed the corner of the K101 and Le Roux roads in Midrand where a shoot-out was in progress.
A 39-year-old passenger in the car was hit in the head by a stray bullet and the driver was hit in the right arm.
The passenger died on the scene and the driver was taken to hospital.
"A group of taxi owners in their private vehicles were shooting at each other. We have not confirmed this. We suspect it," Captain Augustinah Selepe said at the time.
