Three Joburg EMS workers attacked in Eldorado Park

Three Johannesburg emergency services workers were injured after being attacked by angry members of the community in Eldorado Park on Sunday evening.

Joburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says angry residents stoned a fire engine, which had responded to a blaze in the area.
Residents reportedly started the fire during a service delivery protest.
Mulaudzi says the fire engine will be unavailable for several days as it needs repairs.
"We are indeed very much disturbed about this incident because it does not only create fear and panic among firefighters, it also affects service delivery. We are pleading with our communities to refrain from attacking emergency services personnel while rendering important services to our communities.
"The matter has been reported at the Eldorado Park Police station because of all the damage to the property".
