Three more die on Mpumalanga roads

Three people have been killed and more than ten others injured, after a head on collision between a bakkie and a taxi in Middelburg.

The incident happened between the R555 and Stoffberg road.
ER24 says two women between the ages of 40 and 50 were declared dead on the scene.
“Paramedics tried to resuscitate two female patients, but nothing more could be done to help them and they were declared dead on the scene,” says ER24 spokesperson, Annine Siddall.
An elderly man also died on the scene.
Another person who is in a critical condition, was airlifted to hospital.
Siddall says the taxi burst into flames after all the occupants were removed.
The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety on Thursday held a memorial service for 18 people who died in a crash involving a truck in Machadodorp on the R541.
That incident happened on Tuesday.
The driver of the truck has been charged with 18 counts of culpable homicide.
