Three people die in Mpumalanga crash
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Three people died on Thursday morning when a taxi crashed
into a stationary truck on the N4 toll road.
Spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Moeti Mmusi, says the incident took place near Schoonspruit farm between Marloth Park and Komatipoort around 5 am.
"The truck had an overnight mechanical problem, so it was parked on the emergency lane. And then the minibus collided into, and three people died at the scene of the crash," says Mmusi.
He adds three more people sustained minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
It is believed the taxi was travelling from Johannesburg to Maputo.
"The emergency personnel are working on the scene to make sure that it is cleared for the normal flow of traffic."
Police have begun investigating the accident.
