Time names 'Silence Breakers' as Person of the Year

Time magazine has given its prestigious Person of the Year award to the women who have spoken out against sexual abuse and harassment.

The magazine is celebrating the anti-harassment movement #MeToo, which saw millions share their stories of sexual abuse.
The social media movement sprung up in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
One of the women featured in the magazine, Jauna Melara, worked as a hotel housekeeper. She told Time she never spoke out about guests who exposed themselves or masturbated in front of them out of fear of losing their much-needed pay checks.

Actress Ashely Judd also features on the cover of the magazine. Judd was one of the first women to share her horrific encounter with Harvey Weinstein. He allegedly tried to bully her into a sexual encounter.
"Literally, I exited that hotel room at the Peninsula Hotel in 1997 and came straight downstairs to the lobby, where my dad was waiting for me. And he could tell by my face-to use his words-that something devastating had happened to me. I told him. I told everyone," Judd said.
