Toddler dies in head-on crash in Limpopo

A three-year-old was killed in a head-on collision in the Vhembe District of Limpopo.

The accident between a sedan and a minibus taxi also left 16 people injured.
Spokesperson for the Limpopo Department of Transport, Mike Maringa, says the accident happened on the R578 road near Mbokota village on Friday.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the vehicles was overtaking on the barrier line when it collided with an oncoming vehicle.
"The driver of the sedan and a passenger sustained serious injuries while a 3-year-old from the same vehicle was certified dead on the scene," says Maringa.
The taxi driver and 13 passengers escaped with minor injuries.
