Toddler extricated from car wreckage in Joburg

Four people, including two toddlers, were injured in an accident that occurred on the N12 in Benoni, Johannesburg, on Wednesday afternoon.
ER24 said the accident occurred near the Tom Jones off-ramp in Benoni.
ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said: “ER24 responded to the scene and after assessment found that one of the toddlers was entrapped in the vehicle. With the help of other services on scene, paramedics managed to extricate the young child.
“All four patients sustained moderate injuries and two patients were treated and transported by ER24 to Sunshine Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.”
The cause of the incident was unknown, but local authorities were on scene for investigation.
