#TotalShutDown conveners ordered to hand themselves over to police
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Two of the #TotalShutDown conveners are expected to hand themselves over to the police on Wednesday and next week Monday.

The activists brought several cities to a standstill last week when they organised marches across the country against gender-based violence.
On Wednesday the activist took their protest to the Union Building where they demanded to hand over their memorandum to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa only met the group later in the evening, after the group refused to hand over their memorandum to Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor.

#TotalShutDown's Avela Faye says the two convincers are facing charges of violating the protest permit and including not vacating the premises when demanding to engage with Ramaphosa.
"We are currently seeking legal advice, we are in talks with layers so we can find a way forward," says Faye.
