Traffic once again flowing on N12, after early Monday morning protest
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police says the N12 freeway East by the R24 in Edenvale has been opened after being partially closed due to protest action.
The road was closed from 5:00 until around 6:30.
All lanes are now open to traffic.
However, Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng says metro police and police are monitoring the situation.
"It is not clear why there was a demonstration but working together with the South African Police and other law enforcers, we are on-site monitoring the situation," says Mokheseng.
The off-ramp to the OR Tambo International Airport was also affected earlier this morning, but traffic is now free flowing.
