It is one of four committees instructed by Parliament to investigate the allegations of state capture.

The committee's chairperson Dikeledi Magadzi says there will be a strong focus on the allegations of state capture in the state-owned Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa).

"We (are) calling on the minister to tell us what exactly the issues are at Prasa. From 2014, as the portfolio committee, we have seen anomalies at Prasa. We have compiled a report and will put it to the minister to answer."

The committee will look into allegations that the Gupta family and President Jacob Zuma's son Duduzane attempted to benefit from multi-billion rand tender for trains.

"Depending on what the minister will say we will see if we take the matters to a higher level. We believe there are things that did not go right in Prasa," says Magadzi.
