Trap set to capture West Rand lion

A bait trap is being set up in a bid to capture a lion which is on the loose on the West Rand.

The Captured in Africa Foundation says the young male lion has been wandering Fochville.
It's believed the animal escaped from an enclosure five weeks ago.

The foundation's Drew Abrahamson says it's not clear who the lion belongs to or how it escaped.
She suspects the lion belonged to someone who didn't have a permit for the animal.
