This after Zulu died on Monday while attempting to climb Kilimanjaro for the Trek4Mandela campaign.

On Wednesday night the plane carrying the remaining 40 climbers landed at OR Tambo International Airport and the Nelson Mandela Foundation along with climbers, team leaders and doctors briefed media afterwards.

Members of the media watched as members of the climbing expedition arrived home, however, for many the moment was bittersweet.

In an emotional address Expedition leaders Sibusiso Vilane had many people in tears as he explained what happened, and the regret he feels for not brining the entire team home safely.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation's Sello Hatang also struggled to keep the tears back as he asked everyone not to point fingers in this time, and wait for more details and the results of the autopsy.

He urged everyone to honour Zulu by ensuring no female child has to miss school because she doesn't have access to sanitary towels.
