Truck ploughs into wall on William Nicol

A man has been seriously injured after a trucked ploughed into a wall in Fourways.

Netcare911 says the truck crashed into the wall on the corners of William Nicole and Kingfisher Drive this morning.
The flatbed truck landed in the car park of an office.

About 10 parked vehicles had been damaged.

Paramedics say the 30-year-old truck driver had been trapped in the wreckage.
"The Netcare 911 Rescue Unit was on scene as well as firefighters from the City of Johannesburg and their specialised Heavy Rescue Unit, who were called upon to use specialised equipment to access the victim and free him from the truck which was a difficult and lengthy process."
The driver had been extricated and transported to hospital for urgent medical care.

The wreckage has still not been cleared from the road.
