Tshwane: Power restored to all areas, some areas experiencing issues

Power have been restored to all areas in Tshwane which were dumped into the dark following the collapse of pylons on the N4 on Sunday.
The city says although massive progress has been made, a a few areas have encountered network issued after being switched back on.
Spokesperson Selby Bokaba says that power has been restored at the Mamelodi 2 Substation, except for some areas from the Hinterland Substation that include Ext 4, 5, 6, Vista View, Ikageng, Section 14, 15, Nellmaphius Ext 21 and 24, Phase 1, part of S&S and Mamelodi Ext 5.
“The Hinterland Substation has been severely vandalised, the team found two of its main feeder cables stolen. Power has also been restored to Ikageng and some parts of Mamelodi Gardens and Buffer Zone, except for Section 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, due to the stolen cables.”
Bokaba has urged consumers to use power sparingly to avoid possible trips that may occur during switching back.
The City of Tshwane has also vowed to increase visibility and patrol hotspots by deploying police and metro police to curb infrastructure-related crimes.
