Tshwane probe into ‘ballooned land prices’

The City of Tshwane says the investigations into the alleged ballooning of prices on three farms sold to the city have already begun.
The city is accused of purchasing land in Strydfontein, Klipfontein and Roodepoort at prices far exceeding their market value.
Mayor Stevens Mokgalapa’s spokesperson Omogolo Taunyane says investigations into the land purchases began in May.

“The City of Tshwane is currently investigating allegations of farm transactions that were made and formed at a price that far exceeds market value.
“This is an investigation which commenced in May after a number of complaints were brought to the city.”
