Tshwane records rapid increase in positive Covid-19 cases

The City of Tshwane says its Covid-19 management strategy has been implemented, while the capital continues to record the highest number of new infections of all districts across the country.
The new confirmed cases have increased above the 1 000 mark daily.
In a statement released on Monday, the city's mayor Randall Williams has confirmed that active cases have increased up to 6 697.
"The increasing number of active Covid-19 cases is concerning and should serve as a stark reminder to our residents to be cautious and recommit to the relevant Covid-19 protocols. I want to appeal to residents to continue practising social distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing regularly," says Williams.
Williams encouraged residents to get vaccinated.
" The City is ensuring that its comprehensive Covid-19 management strategy is implemented across all regions of Tshwane.
This includes conducting community education drives and setting up pop up vaccination sites in a variety of locations, including workplaces that have asked for City assistance."
