Tshwane residents protest against municipal bills, poor service delivery
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
Members of the Lotus Garden, Atteridgeville, Saulsville Civil Association (LASCA) marched to Tshwane House on Wednesday in protest against service delivery issues in the area.
They were expected to hand over a memorandum of demands to Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink.
The Tshwane-based ratepayers and advocacy group is especially concerned over the city's billing system and what they perceive as poor service delivery.
LASCA says residents’ municipal bills have skyrocketed due to inaccurate readings done by consulting companies.

The Association's Tshepo Mahlangu said residents must take a stand and not pay their bills if they are over-estimated or service delivery does not improve.
"It can’t be correct for the administration to enforce credit control measures, whereas there is a solution on the table which they are trying to hide, which they are trying not to take to the council.”
