Tshwane water crisis: Atteridgeville and Laudium remain critical
Updated | By Lebohang Ndashe
Uncertainty persists in the City of Tshwane's water crisis, with Atteridgeville HL and Laudium reservoirs requiring urgent attention.

The two reservoirs remain critical while Soshanguve L’s levels show improvement.
Tshwane’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo confirmed on Wednesday morning that the City’s electrical team had reported pumps were operational, with the Soshanguve L tower slowly filling.
At the same time, Laudium’s supply has improved and the reservoir is gradually stabilizing.
Atteridgeville continues to receive water directly via a bypass line.
Tshwane’s water distribution network faces challenges due to high water demand in some parts of the municipality.
To achieve a balanced and stable system, the city plans to optimize its water distribution by diverting resources from healthy reservoirs to those facing challenges.
Water supply to restricted reservoirs will be halted temporarily, resuming once struggling reservoirs have reached adequate levels.
