Two cops and a civilian are expected to appear in the Mutale Magistrates' Court in Limpopo today on a charge of armed robbery.
This comes after the three suspects allegedly robbed another police officer who was driving with his wife.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, says the victims were driving along the Tshandama - Khubvi public road when the incident took place.
"He was allegedly ordered by the occupants of a Ford Focus to stop, who in the process, allegedly pointed a firearm at them.
The victim kept on driving until he was allegedly blocked by another vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, in front. He and his wife were then robbed of an amount of cash and a state tablet at gunpoint," says Mojapelo.
The member of the police who was robbed is a Warrant Officer attached to the Local Criminal Record Center of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Kemptonpark in Gauteng.
He says the suspects aged between 29 and 56, are a Warrant Officer stationed at Mutale police station, a Sergeant stationed at Waterval police station and a community member from Khubvi village.
