Two escapees killed in Limpopo
Updated | By Maidi Monareng
Two of the three awaiting-trial prisoners who escaped from Phalaborwa holding cells have been killed in separate incidents.

23-year old Papiki Mashapo was shot and killed during a shoot-out with police at a hostel in Tzaneen.
The second suspect, Thomas Maowasha was found dead with multiple wounds on his body.
Police say he was allegedly assaulted by a group of people.
Police are still searching for the third suspect, Benny Mathaba (24). The trio escaped from police holding cells last week, after they overpowered a police officer who was giving them food.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says anyone with information should come forward.
"The one suspect is still on the run and a manhunt is still continuing," says Ngoepe.
Meanwhile, the suspects who escaped police custody in Hlanganani have all been re-arrested. The search is still on for the five who escaped from Musina holding cells last week.
