Two people have been killed during a devastating head-on collusion involving an ambulance and SUV in Limpopo on Saturday.
The provincial department of Health says the ambulance was ferrying patients from another accident scene on the R81 road at the Lemondokop turn in Belevue village
"Tragically, both the drivers involved in an accident lost their lives on impact and unfortunately, the driver of the ambulance was burnt beyond recognition.
"The ambulance together with three patients on the ambulance as well as three occupants of the SUV survived and are currently receiving medical attention in various hospitals," says spokesperson for the department Health Neil Shikwambana.
Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba is expected to visit the ambulance assistant in hospital today.
