Two killed in Mpumalanga bus crash

Two people have been killed and 26 others injured in a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian in Mpumalanga.
It’s understood the driver of the bus swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian on the R573 Moloto Road in the early hours of Friday morning.
The victims include the pedestrian and a passenger, who both died at the scene.
The injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.
"The bus reportedly en route to Pretoria from Waterval at the time of the crash. It is believed that the crash occurred when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian. About 26 people sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in the area," says Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
