Two police officers are expected to appear in the Polokwane Regional Court on Wednesday on charges of corruption.
The 35-year-old sergeant and 34-year-old constable are also facing charges of defeating the ends of justice.
The two officers were arrested on Tuesday, for allegedly releasing a suspect who had paid them a bribe.
He was accused of culpable homicide.
Provincial Police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, says rather than arresting the suspect, the two officers demanded R10000.00 and released him afterwards.
"The two were arrested by the Station Commander of Polokwane Police Station, Brigadier Gift Makhubele at the time they were reporting for night duties," says Mojapelo.
