Two people in court for water protest

Captain Paul Ramaloko said Thabo Sedumedi, 45, and Clement Hlongwane, 32, appeared in the Bafokeng Magistrate’s Court. Their case was postponed to July 1, for formal bail application.
He said the men are charged with public violence and four counts of malicious damage to property.
“The two were part of the Tlhabane West community who barricaded the Tlhabane-Swartruggens road on Monday, in protest of service delivery and shortage of water in the area,” he said.
The community allegedly damaged traffic lights and pelted a passing cars with stones. -ANA
