UKZN students speak about time lost

Many students have stayed away after a message warning of a fees-related strike was circulated on social media despite lectures having resumed at UKZN.
Students at several institutions country-wide embarked on marches - some of which have since turned violent - following the announcement that universities will independently determine the fee increases -not exceeding 8% for the prospective year.
There's been heavy police presence at both the Howard College and Westville campuses following two days of violent protests.

Meanwhile, student leadership at UKZN's Howard College campus have distanced itself from an audio message that has been circulating on campuses - calling for a complete shutdown of universities. The representatives say they do not know who recorded the message.
