Unions, Minister Pravin Gordhan meet over SAA strike

Unions South African Cabin Crew Association (Sacaa) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) were meeting with the Minister of Public Enterprises, Pravin Gordhan, on Tuesday morning.

This as the strike at South African Airways (SAA) entered its fifth day.

Both unions and the Minister's office were hesitant to comment on the talks on Tuesday morning.
On Sunday, Numsa warned that passengers were not safe on SAA flights, alleging that the airline was employing unqualified staff while the strike continues.
SACAA has denied this, as has SAA, while the SA Civil Aviation Authority.
Unions have, in the meantime, warned of a looming secondary strike following a breakdown in talks with management at SAA.
